Cam Neely

This 16" x 20" drawing is of Cam Neely was created using pastels and acrylics.

The motivation of this drawing was for special cause. One of our co-workers child was diagnosed with Leukemia at a tender age of 4.This drawing was featured as a silent auctioned item at a local Oilmens function. The final tally was a mind boggling $7500 which went to my co worker and his family to pay off some off their expenses.

Silent Auction Fund Raiser at the Oilmen’s

The 2007 Brooks Oilmen’s Lobster Feed was a very successful event and something that I will cherish for a long time.  Thanks to all the men who volunteered their time and energy so that so many of us could enjoy this well organized event.  Hats off to all of the volunteers………what a class act!

I would also like to take the time to send out a very special thank you to the Brooks Oilmen’s Association for allowing me the opportunity to have a silent auction of one of my drawings.  The gentleman doing the announcing did a fantastic job at promoting the drawing and ensuring everyone understood that all proceeds would go to the family of a local oilman whose 4 year old son was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and has been hospitalized in Calgary ever since.

I would also like to make a very special thank you to all the participants who submitted bids and to the eventual winner who donated $7500 towards such a great cause.  It makes me very proud to see a community pull together like this and support a family that is going through such a hard time.

The money will go a long way in helping this family deal with the financial burdens that come along with such an unanticipated illness.  I know this family will appreciate this donation and I look forward to seeing their little boy grow up!

 Sincerely,

 Joe Versikaitis
